The plot moves along as you solve disturbing cases and perform “realistic corpse examinations,” according to its Steam page. The game is story-driven with some supernatural twists and it digs into the character player’s past. Anyway, turns out this is a simulation game (you know, like Surgeon Simulator) where you perform different autopsies in a morgue’s dissection room. All that was shown was the gruesome remains of a human body on a metal table, still somewhat intact, with the person’s chest grimly cut open as the camera showed different angles. I’ll be honest, I was confused during the first 10 seconds of this trailer.

Outbreak Island currently has no slated release date, but it will be available on PC via Steam, where you can currently wishlist it. As a survival game, you also have to craft and find supplies like food and medicine.

Your camera is essentially a weapon in this game - you can use its flash to distract enemy zombies, as well as track their whereabouts from a distance. According to the Steam page, the “authorities have isolated the region from the outside world and sealed the incident.” You play as detective Howard Chapman, who is sent to Erlsen Island to uncover the cause of a peculiar accident where a mysterious experiment drove its habitants mad. You have to survive by making handcrafted weapons, using deduction to solve strange happenings, and making use of your handy camera. Part survival, detective, and horror, Outbreak Island leaves you stranded on an island filled with horrific mysteries. MADiSON is set to release on June 22 for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC (on Steam and GOG.com). The game seems to take place mostly within a house setting, where you use an instant camera to help you solve puzzles and explore all while you attempt to survive as the demon stalks you (this demon is somewhat reminiscent of Lisa from PT). A demon has decided to continue a decades-old ritual, and Luca is forced to be part of the torture. In MADiSON, you play as Luca, who terrifyingly wakes up in a dark room with his hands covered in blood. Originally announced in 2021, the showcase had a new look at the game. Well, even though it might be treading old ground, MADiSON still looks to be a scary survival horror title. Another PT spiritual successor? We’re not past that yet? Apparently not. If you’re like me, here are the best picks from the show to keep on your radar. And while it may not be Halloween season, I’m always up for getting spooked. However, as a big horror fan, I spotted some great spooky games that piqued my interest. This is a bit of a bummer in comparison to last year, when IGN announced Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, World War Z Aftermath, and revealed a new studio from the creators of Call of Duty Zombies. IGN Expo 2022 showed many games ranging from action to retro earlier today, but there were few surprises or real stand-outs from the hour-long showcase.
